Also this tour will cover Akagera national park which is located in Eastern Rwanda on the border with Tanzania. Akagera national park is a the only Savannah park in Rwanda and is home to several mammal species including Lions, Elephants, Giraffes, Hippos, Kobs, Zebras, Bushbucks, Waterbucks and most recently Black Rhinos have been introduces from South Africa, making Akagera national park officially a big 5 park like it was many years ago. It is also home to numerous bird species in the several habitats which include woodland, swamps, lakes and Savannah.

Day1: Kigali City Tour

Meet and greet tour Driver /guide at our office or somewhere in Kigali – short briefing about your city tour. Proceed for a city tour in Kigali, Rwanda’s capital city which was named in 1907 by Dr. Richard Kandt, the first colonial resident governor of Rwanda. Kigali city is surrounded by lush hills of green. On the tour through the city, expect to see the following:

Tour will start by visiting

Mount Kigali for a fantastic view of the city, surrounding hillside and countryside. It is one of the highest points in Kigali city. 

Kigali Museum and learn the history of city and country’s pre-colonial and colonial period as well as the colonial masters in Rwanda. Visit the

genocide memorial site, a grim reminder of a senseless massacre of innocent’s lives in 1994. Learn about Rwanda’s history from pre-colonial times to 1994 genocide and how Rwanda has dealt with that past. We continue with our tour and see the new developments in Rwanda; the recovery has been incredible, a testament to humankind’s resilience

Mille Collines Hotel (Hotel Rwanda) for lunch

Kigali city tour will include a stop at the historic 'Hotel Rwanda'. Still a classy hotel to this day, the Mille Collines Hotel offers a delicious buffet lunch including African Food such as Amateke, Ibijumba etc.

Day2: Transfer to Akageranation for a Game Drive

Day tour to Akagera national park for a Wildlife Safari

Today early morning we leave Kigali at about 5 am for a day trip to

Akagera national park, which is about 2.5 hours away from Kigali. Akagera national park is majorly a Savannah park with Elephants, Zebras, Giraffes, Buffaloes, and recently introduced Lions. We shall take a game drive in search of these mammals. The game drive can last about 4 hours depending on the animal sightings and interest.

Have lunch at Akagera game lodge or a picnic lunch in case you packed before your last game drive on your way out of the park arriving in Kigali later that evening.
